Laboratory Overview

A Modern Platform for Precision Infectious Disease Investigation

The Molecular Biology, Genomics, and Serology Laboratory at CERID provides advanced infrastructure for the detection, characterization, and genomic analysis of pathogens of public health importance.

The facility supports PCR and real-time PCR diagnostics, nucleic acid extraction, Oxford Nanopore Technology sequencing workflows, molecular epidemiology, serological diagnosis, and translational infectious disease research.

These integrated platforms enable investigations into malaria, neglected tropical diseases, antimicrobial resistance, viral infections, and emerging and re-emerging pathogens, while supporting surveillance, outbreak response, and evidence-based public health interventions.

CERID's laboratory systems are designed to deliver high-quality, reproducible, and scalable molecular and genomic services for research institutions, public health agencies, healthcare facilities, and collaborative scientific projects.
